Espirete

Mysteries abound behind the cheerful face and golden eyes of this pegasus. Her strange accent and song-like voice raise as many questions as they answer. She goes where she pleases and often appearing at arguably opportune times, especially surrounding the events of a crisis. She has claimed no single area as her home, and often shows up in strange and unique locations, some where even a pony would be out of place. Every appearance of this ethereal pony has deepened the mystery surrounding her. She has frequented Saddle Arabia's largest city where she is a vendor of rare jewels. Canterlot guards have noted her several times as a street performer singing in an as yet unknown language. Gryphons of the White Aeries keep an eye out for her as she has become an omen of bad luck, claiming her appearance always marking an unfortunate event.

Those who do recognize her have claimed to have seen strange events occurring around her. Rumors tell that she is able to levitate objects despite being a pegasus, no glow or hint of magic about her. Other word of mouth has sworn she can float without a single beat of her wings, summon lights and shapes in the air, and even walk right through walls. Some unicorns even admit to an uneasy feeling if they draw too close to her, like a chill traveling up their spine.

All have been dismissed as rumor, ponies fearing a stranger and making rash judgments. While her accent and mannerisms are strange, her name would simply suggest she is foreign. The witnesses of her random performances on the streets of Canterlot know that she sings in a language they do not understand. Whenever she decide to sell wares they tend to be odd and quite unique, often defying any attempt at appraisal. There are times when she is simply present, and sometimes preceding or succeeding a time of duress. This has led to a stigma concerning the pegasus, which is only compounded by the sense of unease that surrounds her.

Perhaps it is in her deep golden eyes that ponies find their uneasiness. Few can maintain eye contact for long as she never noticeably blinks, and the gold seems to glow brighter the longer one stares. Her sharp gaze and constant, yet kind smile would be engaging were they from any other pony, but offer an air of ill-at-ease fromthis enigmatic pegasus. Espirete always seems to know far more than she should, her appearances often guaranteeing a crisis event; though not always. The inexplicable nature of her character creates too many questions as to what draws her, and why only some disasters attract her, as well as how she sometimes appears "before" one has even occurred. This, like every other aspect of her, is random. She may appear before or after, depending upon if she appears at all. Does she appear to perform, to sell her wares, or to simply observe? Again, all completely random.

Some have made attempts to get to know her, try to undo the rumor-driven reputation she has gained by those select few who are aware of her. None have succeeded in anything more than confusion, but all have agreed she bears a wisdom that will either enlighten or frighten depending on how it is taken to heart. The aura of unease surrounding her often dissuades learning more.

If discovering the mystery of this strange and perhaps even otherworldly pegasus is made a goal, then watch the streets of Canterlot before or after a crisis comes to pass, no matter how impactful that event may be. The Saddle Arabian markets where she has been seen may contain answers, albeit few for all but the most dedicated. If found, she may speak on simple matters as any pony would, or delve into deep and enigmatic matters that would leave most confused and unnerved.
